Madrid was all that we could have wished for. The hotel was in a great location, within easy reach of shops,Retiro park, the Metro and restaurants.I would definitely stay at the hotel again -the roof top pool was very clean and sunbeds comfortable.

Eating and drinking in the hotel is expensive 5 euro for a bottle of water!!, just head to El Corte Ingles and downstairs they have a food hall where a two litre bottle is 49 cent!!, make sure to eat at Botin the worlds oldest restraunt , you wont be disappointed, food and athmosphere fab and staff very friendly, just book and enjoy.

The hotel was lovely and the staff very helpful. The only down side was that i had £200 stolen from my purse around by the pool. The staff took the details but did not come back to me. Also you have to wait ages and i mean ages for the lift

The room had limited facilities. Our TV did not have SKY whilst others did. there was no mirror in the room, just one in the bathroom, not convenient for my showering whilst my wife was preparing her makeup. There were no Tea or coffee facilities in the room nor water. Friends travelling with our party had far superior rooms for the same rate. One of our party complained and it took 2 days to re-room.

When taking a taxi make sure your driver takes a direct route, a short journey (over a route I knew) involved a tour of the city to get to our location!
Had a wonderful meal at Le Bouteille in Opera.

Excellent hotel, we will most certainly return but so sad that non smokers are not respected, people even smoke in the lifts and lavatories, there is a smoke smell almost everywhere, what about the Non Smoking regulations!
Top Tip
Would recommend El Cafe de la Opera for a most entertaining evening, but reserve in advance and request a table on the top level rather than the lower one.

The lady staff on reception were very helpful, but one was positively appalling and treated us down right rudely. Cleaning excellent, rooms warm and clean, Drinks expensive+++++, breakfast cold and very poor for a 4 star hotel.
Top Tip
Seek out the jamesjoyce bar between the celebes statue and the puerto de acala, food excellent and good value, plaza mayor food expensive. Use the metro and the main renfe to get about the city and the outlying areas it is cheap, All attractions well worth seeing,El escorial brilliant, train fare only 6 euros return.

Had a wonderful time at this beautiful hotel which was right on the Gran Via,surrounded by many bars restaurants so many to choose from. Great buffet breakfast, bacon, eggs, sauages,
cheeses, fruit, cold meats, staff really helpful recommended places to checkout for nightlife, only downside was we had no view our room was quite dark as we looked on to a wall of the hotel but then again we were out most of the day. Would certainly go back to this hotel especially before end of September as the swimming pool looked absolutely beautiful but closes in October. had a great night at larzios Bar just round the corner on Silva Street, within walking distant of all the major attractions 10 minutes to Royal Palace, 20 to Museums and 25 to Retrino Park.
Top Tip
Take the open top bus and see all the major attractions,Madrid is a vibrant city can't wait to go back again!

Lovely hotel in city centre. It was tastefully furnished, and had great facilities. Lovely roof top swimming pool complex, although it was a little too cold to swim in in early October. Would recommend it wholeheartedly. Just a 4 for service as some of the staff had that snooty attitude that you sometimes get in the best hotels, but most were very friendly and helpful.
Top Tip
For a weekend, in my opinion, the best way to see the major sites in Madrid is an open topped bus tour, which stops just across the street from the hotel. Costs 15 euros and is well worth it.
