The hotel is located on the Gran Via in the centre of Madrid. It is also just a few metres from the city's most popular attractions: the Plaza de España, Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol, the museums, and the numerous boutiques and entertainment options.

The Tryp Menfis Hotel is housed in an imposing modern building that was renovated in 2004 (though as of November 2006 some patrons still commented about scaffolding disfiguring the façade.) The spacious lobby is elegantly appointed with columnar light fittings, a marble floor and wood panelling. Also large, the 112 guestrooms are decorated to a high standard with beige toned bedspreads and curtains, complemented by parquet floors and modern furnishings. All are clean and well maintained, as are the functional en suite bathrooms. The hotel also offers a varied breakfast buffet and has a bar/cafeteria on the first floor with magnificent views of the Gran Vía.
