the hotel and Staff were first class - a member of our party twisted her back and could hardly walk - the staff could not do enough, special treatment all the way..
Its position is a little unfortunate (The Red Light district) but it is near all the sights and the Old town for little tapas bars etc.
Top Tip
Have a meal in 'El Gaucho' a five minute walk from the hotel - a good honest bar/Resraurant no frills good friendly staff and good honest grub. Do not go out too early things do not start to open up until 2100 - 2130 hrs, then are open all night sometimes - What a GREAT CITY

The very best staff I have encountered in years. On busy street but once windows closed it is silent. There is a problem with hookers in this area of Madrid but once ignored they dont bother you. Ideal location for visiting Plaza Mayor, various palaces,Puerta del Sol,Prado Museum etc. Also only ?5 trip by taxi from/to Atocha Station

Excellent location. Bit noisy but thats because of the city centre location. All the museums are walkable so get a museum pass for 2 days.

This is a very nice, friendly hotel. Not as chic as some of the boutique hotels that our friends stayed in but great value for money and terrifically friendly.
The only shame was that the roof-top pool doesn't seem to be open any more.
Top Tip
Madrid is a great city and you'll find all the best restaurants off the main tourist routes.

Excellent location. Only down side is the amount of prostitutes and pick pockets that hang about the area.

Ver central location for all the major sites of interest. Excellent soundproofing in room despite overlooking very busy Gran Via. Metro station right outside the door. Excellent breakfast.
