The hotel only lacks a good restaurnt facillity other than that I will highly recommend it.The air con in the room I was in was perfect for the high temperatures the city was facing.
Top Tip
The hotel is set in an excellent part of historic Madrid city with all your public services at your door step.

Location and proximity to other city sights is excellent. The only criticism is that the bar prices in the hotel were a little above the norm.
Top Tip
Bazaar Restaurant on Calle Libertad 2 mins from the hotel was excellent. Also bars and restaurants in the vicinity of Place Santa Ana were quite nice and easily reached on foot. Be wary of taxi drivers who try a sting. As a group of 10 people we needed 3 taxis from the airport and the prices ranged from 23 Euro to 38 Euro, which was quite disturbing. Also short late night trips which cost some of us 5 Euro cost some of the others 10 Euro. Be aware of this, I think it's the foreigner thing.

We didn't seem to be able to control the temperature of the room, which might be a problem in summer.
I don't think it would be value for money at the prices stated on the H10 website, but at the Just One Hotel price I was more than happy.
Top Tip
There are two excellent vegetarian restaurants within a ten minute walk of the hotel. Al Natural and Artemisa.
We were taken by a friend in Madrid to a restaurant just behind the hotel. La Barraca. Excellent rice dishes and a really quirky layout made up of lots of separate rooms.
We arrived in Madrid bt train and left by plane so we didn't know that there is a supplementary fare if you get off the Metro at the airport. It's only 1 Euro on top of the 1 Euro flat fare for the rest of the Metro, but is not made obvious when you board the Metro, only when you get off. There is then a bottleneck of rather annoyed tourists at the handful of ticket machines...

Hotel was modern. Rooms were very small. Restaurant didn't have alot to offer. Room service was on time, but food was cold (cooked breakfast).Food was quite poor. Alot of boxes and rubbish along the corridor and when I went to the restaurant I was greeted at the elevator by piles and piles of laundry on trollies. Not very appealing.

When we got to Villa de la reina, we were told we had to go to another hotel v close, "Siete Islas" on C/Vilaverde because of "electricity problems"! I guess, overbooking! It was a good replacement though. It didn't cause too many problems.
